Why Support CJR
Since 1904, thousands of youth have been helped by the Connecticut Junior Republic. With the generous involvement of many friends and contributors, CJR gives boys and girls the assistance they need to overcome neglect, abuse, poverty, learning disabilities, and family problems. New skills, heightened social responsibility and self-discipline, are just a few of the benefits young people gain through CJR's care, treatment and education programs.
Contributions from individuals, businesses and foundations have enabled the Connecticut Junior Republic to expand the scope and quality of resources for youth enrolled in its residential and group home programs, and to offer services for girls, as well as boys, through its community-based facilities in Danbury, Torrington and Waterbury.
Gifts bequeathed to the Connecticut Junior Republic's CJR Fund ensure a growing endowment which generates critical income for program support and development. This vital reserve enables the Junior Republic to reach out to troubled children and their families by providing innovative new services. Endowment income also ensures the continued quality of CJR's existing care, treatment and education programs.
Generous annual contributions as well as planned gifts, including outright bequests, charitable trusts, charitable gift annuities, life insurance policies and real estate, help CJR meet the growing and increasingly complex needs of at-risk and troubled young people.
