Family Services & After-care
During their treatment process at the Connecticut Junior Republic, students make great strides in developing self-discipline, education skills, decision making skills, snd learning the importance of teamwork. Family Services and aftercare are a critical component of CJR's program as they help youth sustain their progress within their families and communities..
Through participation in the CJR program, students and their families learn to function together in new and healthier ways. Therapy begins during a youth's residence on campus and continues for six months following residential treatment. During this time, CJR's family services staff works closely with boys and their families to address critical issues and ensure that students have the most supportive home environment possible following completion of residential treatment. After-care helps provide a smooth transition when a boy returns to his home and offers students assistance in addressing educational, vocational and emotional issues.
